Tuenda: straight from tradition

Tuenda, an acclaimed trio in Asturian traditional music, formed in the winter of 2003, had a very significant impact on the folk music scene. They debuted with their eponymous album "Tuenda" in 2005, which was followed by two other works (Tuenda 2, Tuenda 3). Their music, deeply rooted in the Asturian oral tradition, included diverse thematic elements and linguistic variants of Asturias.

The group was known for its authentic interpretation of traditional music, which resonated with both local and international audiences.

They also participated in TPA's oral heritage program "Camín de Cantares", which was noted for its important contribution to the preservation and promotion of regional traditions and music. Sadly, the band ceased its activity in 2019 following the loss of Elías García.

In this video we can see the group in a rehearsal, playing El Berciano and Los Pol.los.
