Llar Trad Fest Soundtrack

Asturian folk music keeps real treasures in its discography. There are many carefully crafted and celebrated works left behind by musicians who have cultivated traditional music since the 1980s. However, a very interesting phenomenon occurs in relation to these records: not all the songs are played in sessions. Those that do, must have in their intervals a magic that incites the musicians to play them in a group. There are many memories and sensations that Asturian musicians keep behind these melodies. So many times played in sessions, so many times listened to in concerts, in so many different places, and always awakening that passion for the land where they live and for the music that comes out of it.

These pieces have a history of their own, and can bring up a thousand feelings because of the love you have for them. You can cry with the first chords of La Villa or Candanín, played by the best bouzouki players that have passed through Asturias: Ígor Medio and Elías García, respectively.

You can dance to joyful ternary rhythms with Chorín el Llagareru or El Molín del Puirtu, and feel the heart of this land beating with San Roque or the Fandango Puntiáu/Alborada Asturiana set; this last piece we call “Alegría”, and we use that word to announce it in the theme changes. From Llar we wanted to make you aware of these jewels of our repertoire, and, to do so, we had to ask someone to make a selection. Well, nothing more and nothing less than the hand of Pepín de Muñalén, we put at your disposal this Spotify playlist, which we can consider the soundtrack of the Llar Trad Fest. You will hear these melodies in the concerts, the sessions, being hummed... We encourage you to learn them, and you will live the tradition in a unique way!
