Asturian repertoire for the slow sessions of Llar Trad Fest
From Llar, in collaboration with our teachers, we have selected some pieces from the repertoire of the Asturian oral tradition that will be played in the slow sessions of the festival. We have prepared videos, audio and scores, so you can learn them and enjoy sharing and living the tradition with the rest of the musicians.

According to Susana Asensio Llamas, in her work “Fuentes para el estudio de la música popular asturiana” (CSIC: Madrid, 2010), Melquiades commented “this is the real old jota”, and said that it was also played with the fiddle. In fact, it was also known as Jota de Pedrín de Campelo, who was probably the fiddler who played it.
